Obituary for Lewis Duckett
Mr. Lewis "Coot" Duckett, Sr., 68, native of Greenville, SC, departed his life on Sunday, December 4, 2022. He was the son of the late Marion Duckett, Sr. and Willie Christine Duckett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Annie Lee Duckett; and brother, Mr. Marion Duckett, Jr.
Lewis was educated in the Greenville County Schools system. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys and Clemson football fan. Lewis worked for Frank's Ornamental Iron Works and was a faithful member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was also a member of Haynie Street Gentlemen's Club.
Lewis leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to two sons, Mr. Lewis Vondrake Duckett, Jr. (Tennille) of Taylors, SC and Mr. Marion Christopher Duckett of Greenville, SC; daughter, Mrs. Alfredia Lee Rosemond Coles (Billy Ray) of Greenville, SC; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by eight sisters: Mrs. Irene Clark, Mrs. Luvenia Hill, Mrs. Lillie Chaudhry (Arshaund), Mrs. Trudy Duckett (Terry), Mrs. Angie Scott (Otis), Mrs. Shirley Duckett (Roosevelt), Ms. Mary Duckett, and Ms. Carolyn Duckett all of Greenville, SC; seven nieces and nine nephews; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and loved ones. Special friends include Mr. Steven Johnson, Mr. Author Shell, Mr. Frank Clark, Mr. Micheal Brown, Mr. Terry Atkins, and Mr. David Johnson.
Lewis' Homegoing Celebration will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Palmetto Mortuary, 1017 Mauldin Rd., Greenville, SC 29607. Visitation will be held an hour prior, beginning 11:00 AM, and his committal and burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Piedmont, SC.
