Obituary for Louise Bowling
M. Louise "Lou" Bowling, 91, of Easley, SC went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 11, 2021. She was born in Greenville, SC to the late Melda and Walter Murr.
Lou was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Williams and Margaret Styles; her precious granddaughter, Tessa Louise Roddy Andrasik; and many special friends, including Helen and Doris Dill. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Larry E. Bowling; daughter, Beth Roddy (Charles); sons, Barry Bowling and Bentley Bowling; grandchildren: Tamatha Roddy, Tyler Roddy, and Trevor Roddy (Courtney); great-grandsons, Brysyn and Braydyn Andrasik; special friend, Chelle Rogers; and her beloved dachshund, Footsie "Sassy" Bowling.
Lou enjoyed reading, gardening, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, card games, cooking, and church activities at First Wesleyan until their closure, and naps with her husband. She had a knack for beautifully decorating everything, whether a simple dessert or an entire house! Her love of baking projects was only overshadowed by her love for her family and friends. She was deeply drawn to the beach, especially Garden City and her second home, The Sea Witch, which she graciously shared with her family and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Leaf Institute of Art, 31 Stevens St., Greenville, SC 29605. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Greenville, 15 Oregon St., Greenville, SC 29605, www.mealsonwheelsgreenville.org; or McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680, www.hospicehousegc.org.
