Lucy Elizabeth Dillard-Howard, 71, wife of Steve Howard, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020.
A native of Greer, daughter of the late Ben Perry Dillard Jr. and Ruby Johnson Dillard, she was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Greer. She is survived by her husband Steve, the love of her life, and his son Dale (Jenna), and their children. She is also survived by three sisters, Bertha Fisher (Charles), Judy Bright (Bill), Mary Green (Bucky-deceased), and two brothers Ben Dillard (Haley) and Frankie Dillard (Susan), and also by many loved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. She is pre-deceased by her sister Betsy Cole.
She was known for her love of plants and flowers and her lovely gardens.
Lucy was a member of the Greer Primrose Garden Club. She enjoyed her career with the South Carolina Greenville County Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services. She was a blessing to her community volunteering her time at the Greer soup kitchen and Meals on Wheels. Lucy was a bright light to all who knew her; she laughed easily and she loved deeply. She will be greatly
missed, but we rejoice knowing that she is with her Savior enjoying
the gardens of heaven.

Memorials may be made to
The Greer Christian Learning Center, 3055 E. Gap Creek Road, Greer, SC.

To Steve and the entire Dillard Family,
I was was so shocked and saddened when I learned of Lucy’s passing. We worked together for many years at the Probation and Parole Office and stayed in touch after we both retired. We shared a love for plants and flowers and in the Spring when she would divide her plants she would call me and share them. Now I can look out of any window or walk in the yard and be reminded of Lucy. She will be missed by all who knew her.

When I look at Lucy’s photo, I see the young girl I remember from my childhood at Fulton Church. So lovely. May she go with God. May all her loved ones received the peace and comfort only God provides. Helen McElrath Griffin

I am so sorry to hear that Lucy died. She was a good friend in high school. She always had a smile as we saw each other over the many years. My prayers for the family, She loved each one of you and was proud of each of your accomplishments in life,

So sorry to hear about Lucy's death. As a former member of Greer First Presbyterian Church(1952-64), I remember some of the Dillard family. If I remember correctly, her grandmother was Eula Dillard who was affectionally known by the church as "Aunt Eula". My deepest sympathy goes out to Lucy's family.
