Obituary for Lucy Elizabeth Dillard (Dillard)
Lucy Elizabeth Dillard-Howard, 71, wife of Steve Howard, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020.
A native of Greer, daughter of the late Ben Perry Dillard Jr. and Ruby Johnson Dillard, she was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Greer. She is survived by her husband Steve, the love of her life, and his son Dale (Jenna), and their children. She is also survived by three sisters, Bertha Fisher (Charles), Judy Bright (Bill), Mary Green (Bucky-deceased), and two brothers Ben Dillard (Haley) and Frankie Dillard (Susan), and also by many loved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. She is pre-deceased by her sister Betsy Cole.
She was known for her love of plants and flowers and her lovely gardens.
Lucy was a member of the Greer Primrose Garden Club. She enjoyed her career with the South Carolina Greenville County Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services. She was a blessing to her community volunteering her time at the Greer soup kitchen and Meals on Wheels. Lucy was a bright light to all who knew her; she laughed easily and she loved deeply. She will be greatly
missed, but we rejoice knowing that she is with her Savior enjoying
the gardens of heaven.
