Maria C. Bennett, 56, of Piedmont, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2022. She was born in Madeira, Portugal and moved to Oakland, CA at the age of 18. She lived in Sierra Vista, AZ until moving to SC 12 years ago.

Maria is survived by her husband of eight years, Charles D. Bennett; sons, Tony Maryland (Niesha) and Calvin Maryland (Ana Luz); daughter, Michell Maryland; step-children: Corey and Alexis Samuel, Charles R. Bennett, and Chrisjen Sherman-Samuel; grandchildren: Jordan, Jalayah, Jayden, Caliana, Calvin Jr., Corey, Cameron, and Malcom; dear friend, Esther Atchinson; and beloved Rottweiler, Damien. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria.

Maria worked for Ingles for nearly a decade. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, traveling, and listening to music. Maria was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, and her greatest joy was gatherings with friends and family.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Palmetto Mortuary, 1017 Mauldin Rd., Greenville, SC 29607. Her family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior, beginning 1:00 PM. Committal and burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Piedmont, SC.
