Obituary for Marian Louise Couch (Garrett)

Marian Louise Garrett Couch went home to be with Jesus at the age of 91 after a struggle with Covid. She was born in Bishopville, SC. Her parents were Dee and Hattie Garrett. She was predeceased by her husband, William J Couch, her parents, her brothers Russell and Frank, her sisters Azalee Boyd, Margarite Livingston, Doris Pollard. She has two living sisters, Martha Allen of Sumter SC and Peggie Wylie of Mauldin, SC. Her children are Thomas E. Couch wife Ann, Richard E Couch wife Susan, Sandra C. Crawford husband John. Grandchildren are Samuel Couch wife Lindsey, Nathan Couch wife Diana, Matthew Couch wife Gracie, Caroline Campbell and her husband Josh, Andrew Crawford wife Christy, Joseph Crawford wife Jessie, Lydia M. Crawford. Great grandchildren Merritt Kirk Couch, Chip Couch, Alice Garrett Couch, and Baby Couch soon to be born this month to Matt and Gracie. Marian Couch was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Laurel Baptist Church for most of her years where she served in the Laurel Bell Ringers, Young at Heart, sang in choir, taught Sunday school, kept the nursery, served meals on Wednesday night and many other areas wherever she was needed. Later to be at East Park Baptist who then joined Sanctuary church. Mama loved the Lord her family, friends, and neighbors. She looked forward to Heaven with Jesus and love ones, friends, neighbors who have gone home before her. Her wish was to be cremated. Due to Covid 19 the family has decided there will be no funeral. At a date in future, should God allow we may be able to have a memorial service. we ask in lieu of flowers that should you desire to remember mom give to a charity or ministry you are passionate about. We would like to express our deepest love and gratitude to all who helped us to care for my mom in her four years of decline. all the meals, visits, hours spent to care give for her. Also, for the excellent care she received from all those who cared for her at NHC Mauldin who provided her with loving care as she stayed there. She was really happy there and always said they were taking good care of her. Special thanks to Jackie, Elizabeth, Melissa and others.
