Obituary for Mary Evelyn Allison (Haynie)

Mary Evelyn Haynie Allison, 88, of Greenville went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 25, 2019. She was the wife of William H. Allison for 64 years and is survived by a daughter, Becky Sentelle and her husband Joe, and two grandchildren, Justin and Molly.

In 1955 she moved to Miami where she and Bill raised a family and lived for 36 years.
She enjoyed all south Florida offered with boating, fishing, swimming, and camping.
She loved being outdoors and worked hard to have a beautiful home, inside and out.

While there she worked for Pan Am and Anchor Electric. She was especially proud
of being the President of the Florida Engineering Society – Ladies Auxiliary several times. She was a member of Kendall United Methodist Church.

In 1991 they retired and moved to Summerville, SC where she was active in
Bethany United Methodist Church, The Timrod Library, Sculpture in the South and
the Elks Lodge.

In 2009, they moved to Rolling Green Village and was a member of Mauldin United Methodist Church. She took part in senior activities until her health declined.

She loved watching birds and was an avid reader. She and Bill took over a dozen trips after retirement, domestic and international and made good friends through these travels. She lived a full life.

Born in Florence, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Evelyn Haynie. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jean H. Jenkins and Elsie H. Weeks.

She is survived by a sister, Margaret H. Merriman and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by two special friends, Mary Ellen Davis and Margaret Parham.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in
