Obituary for Mary Alice Oglesby (Ladson)
Mary Alice Oglesby, 77, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was the daughter the late of Lawrence (LC) Ladson and Mattie Ladson.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, George Oglesby; niece reared in home, Iyana Cleveland; son, Norman Oglesby, Detroit, MI; daughter, Meyana Oglesby; sisters, Mrs. Mamie Ladson Hall and Mrs. Barbara Ann Fowler; sister-in laws, Shirley White, Norma Jean Goldsmith; grandson, Tristen Ballenger; and many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Charles Ladson, James Ladson, and Calvin Ladson, and other family members Betty Ladson Abercrombie and Florence Howard.
Mary was a talented seamstress and loved to cook. She was known for always being sharply dressed and a talented eye for fashion. She also enjoyed fishing. Mary loved the Lord and her church family. She had a strong love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She had a contagious smile that seemed to bring out the best in everyone she met. She will be missed dearly , but is now in her heavenly home with the Lord.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Word of Faith Christian Fellowship, 218 Tremont Ave, Greenville, SC 29605. The visitation is 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm with the service to start at 1:00 pm.
