McGarrah Keese Perry, 86, of Greer, South Carolina went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 2nd, 2020. He was the son of the late Henry Perry and Lucyle Perry.
He is survived by his wife Charline Martin Perry; daughter, Siri Perry Craft; son, Mark Charles Perry; sister, Nancyle Pitts; grandchildren, Gabriel Craft, Jesse Craft, Nevada Perry and Mesa Perry; great grandchildren, Violet Craft, James Craft, and Evan Craft; other family members Roy Craft (son in law) and Carol Perry (daughter in law) and
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Perry, Henry Marion Perry Jr..
He loved his dogs, Charlie, Bodie and their predecessors. Sports were his passion: football (Miami Dolphins, Florida State, Apopka, FL and Greer, SC high schools), baseball (Braves), basketball (Jazz and Magic), golf . . . He enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and sharing his life with his wife Charline and his family. He lived to serve others. Over a 34-year career administrating and teaching in Florida’s higher education system, he helped countless people develop themselves. He was active in his church and enjoyed working on mission projects. In his last years he helped his neighbors in Memory Care by pushing residents’ wheelchairs to their rooms and befriending everyone. He will be remembered for his willingness to help others, his loving spirit and infectious smile.
A service will be scheduled for the summer of 2021 once it is safe for family and friends to gather. Place of Internment will be Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain, North Carolina.
