Obituary for Michael James Coffman
Michael James Coffman, 38, of Liberty, SC and formerly Hendersonville, NC, died from self-inflicted injuries Saturday, January 23, 2021. Born November 22, 1982, he was the son of the late Lee Swafford and Anne Coffman.
A consummate prankster, Michael loved to work on cars and competition speakers for stereos. He loved music. His family, though, was the love of his life.
Michael is survived by his daughter, Khloe Bullwinkle Coffman; brothers, Matthew Coffman and Andrew Swafford; girlfriend and Khloe's mother, Emily Bullwinkle; and cousin, Mandy Coffman.
His death was a shock to all who knew him. His family hopes his untimely death helps to bring awareness to those thinking suicide is the only way to deal with their problems: "It's not. Please talk to someone you trust, where you are safe. Seek help because you are loved and will be surely missed. Don't hurt yourself. It's okay to be scared. It's okay to doubt yourself. It's okay to talk about your fears."
His family loved him greatly. His young daughter will never know her father's fun and caring nature - she would've loved having him as her dad.
