Obituary for Michael Dean Thurston Sr.
Michael Dean Thurston, Sr., 63 of Greenville, SC, went to be with the Lord Sunday, February 28, 2021. He was born in Greenville, SC to the late J.D. and Mary Thurston. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather.
Michael is survived by his only son Michael Dean Thurston Jr; two sisters, Frances (Robert) Morris, Jane Thurston; one grandchild, J.D. Thurston and fiancée Sandra Haney.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Stephen Thurston, and sister-in-law, Kim Thurston;
Michael enjoyed riding his motorcycle, feeling the wind in his face, fishing and cracking jokes. He was always the life of the party, loved to see his family and friends laugh. He will be remembered for his love and loyalty to his family, friends, and his dog Meschach. He will be greatly missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 8, 2021 at 1:00pm at Palmetto Mortuary, 1017 Maudlin Road, Greenville, SC 29607. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm , with the burial to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, 7 Duncan Road, Travelers Rest, SC 29690.
