Obituary for Nellie B Stamey (Bates)

Nellie Bates Stamey, 75, of Taylors, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 12th and 5:28 p.m. Born March 26th, 1945 in Greenville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Victoria H. W. Bates.

Nellie was a graduate of Wade Hampton High School. She worked at Steel Heddle/GTP for almost 30 years. She was known for her love and passion for the Atlanta Braves, watching Westerns, playing cards, and she loved her dog Andy very much.

She is survived by her son Randall S. Stamey and his wife Gina, grandson Brandon S. Stamey, sister-in-law Linda Bates, niece Shannon Bates-Harrison, nephew Brent Bates, and great nieces Madison Bates, Sierra Bates, and Lauren Bates Welchel.

She was predeceased by her brother James Bates.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation at 30 East 33rd Street, New York, New York 10016.

Services and arrangements have not been determined at this time.

I 💜 u son! Mom will ALWAYS be here for you. Grandma and Granny both loved you very much, you were the apple in there EYE. You took care of them, over the years. Nellie was a good Mother-in-law, lots of memories.
