Obituary for Paul Lynne Bayne

Paul Lynn Bayne, widower of Brenda Post Bayne, son of Lloyd R. and Annie M. Bayne, died late last month. He is survived by his ex-wife, Judith H. Bayne, his daughter, Heather Stock, and his son, Nathan Bayne and two step daughters, Karen Nobiltt and Kelly Rackley.
Paul attended Byrnes High School (where he drove a school bus for a time) and later served in the US Navy for a time. After leaving the Navy, Paul spent time in San Francisco entering the “hippie culture” and sharing experiences with Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. He wrote poetry as well. After returning home, He attended Greenville Tech and became certified in Wastewater Management. He eventually became a carpenter like his father.
After the death of his second wife, Paul became somewhat reclusive. He enjoyed listening to his collection of LPs, collecting coins, fishing, watching sports, and reading SC Wildlife magazine. He was a member of The Gold Prospectors Association, The North American Fishing Club and a regular contributor to WNCW, a public radio station out of Spindale, NC.
Paul was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 9th at 2:30.
