Phyllis Carter Frick

Her Family are celebrating the life of Phyllis Carter Frick, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister - in- law, and friend. Phyllis died in Spartanburg, S.C. on April 14, 2022 following a brave battle with cancer. Phyllis was born in Columbia, S.C. February 14, 1957, the daughter of John Rex Carter and Maxine Swartz. She graduated from Brookland - Cayce High School and attended courses at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C. Phyllis worked for years in catering and food service and retired as Assistant Manager for the Greer Middle School cafeteria.

Phyllis was a talented gardener and especially loved her beautiful rose bushes. She was a gourmet cook and hosted many wonderful family gatherings over the years. She loved to read. She loved to travel with her family and enjoyed vacations in Disney World, the beach, and the Blue Ridge mountains. She and her husband later visited family in Bend Oregon, where they enjoyed seeing the West and the beautiful Cascade mountains. She loved animals and had a succession of wonderful pets over the years. In later years she was a devoted grandmother to her grandson. She also enjoyed seeing the many varieties of birds that came to her numerous feeders. Phyllis always had many and varied interests and was skillful in everything she turned her mind to!

Phyllis was married to Kenneth Frick for 44 years, who survives her. She is also survived by her daughter Hannah Victoria Hinson, Hannah's fiance Dustin Kilian and grandson Noah Beau Hinson of Landrum, SC; son Nathan Carter Frick of Landrum, SC; older brother John Carter (Joan) of Lexington, SC; sister Kaylynne (Terry) Wyatt of Topsail Beach, NC; sister - and brother - in - law Elizabeth and James Potter of Columbia, SC; and grand - dog - Duke. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Amanda Maxine Carter. We love you Phyllis, and will miss your devotion, guidance and care!

The family will hold a private get - together with close friends to celebrate Phyllis.
