Obituary for Robert John Travis

It is with a heavy heart that we say, "Rest in Peace," to Robert John Travis, 55, who passed away on February 2, 2021 in Greenville, South Carolina.

Robert was a kind soul with a great sense of humor and always full of life. Robert like to have fun in everything he did (good and bad). Often referred to as a likeable and just a good guy. He liked to laugh and make people laugh. A fun memory is all the nicknames he would come up with for himself and friends: Bob Star, Starman, RT, and Bob the Builder, to name a few. Robert, you will be sorely missed by your family and friends.

Survivors include his sister, Dawn Yost (Eric); one aunt, Jacqueline Bierwirth; a dear childhood friend, Charles "B" Randolph, Jr.; many cousins and other extended family members; and numerous friends and loved ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sandra Sweetsir and Ronald Travis Sr.; uncles, grandparents, and dear childhood friend, Dan "M" Mousel.

At this time, Palmetto Mortuary will handle the private arrangements in South Carolina. Due to COVID restriction Celebration of Life arrangements are on hold in South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers; (https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-family-of-robert-john-travis) has been set up by Jason "J" Peesel a long-time friend of Robert. A Celebration of Life will take place sometime this summer for family and friends in Chicago.

Please feel free to leave your condolences on this page.

Cards can be received at Palmetto Mortuary, 1017 Mauldin Road, Greenville SC 29607, please direct them to the family of Robert Travis.
