Obituary for Ruben Aguayo

Ruben Aguayo, 55, of Seneca, South Carolina went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 17, 2020. He was born in McAllen, Texas to the late Jose C. Aguayo and Teresa Aguayo Esparza; he was raised in Aguascalientes, Mexico and Flora and Kokomo, Indiana. After he married, he lived in Tipton, Indiana and Pueblo, Colorado before relocating to South Carolina.

Ruben's passion was music. He played in various bands from the time he was a teenager until the time he passed away. An avid traveler, he loved sightseeing and enjoyed nature. Ruben loved carpentry and mechanics, always working on vehicles. He anticipated festivals as he enjoyed the crowds and music. He also liked visiting lakes, rivers, and the ocean.

He was a simple and very honest and caring man and a great problem solver.

Ruben loved his family very much; he treated his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children. He had a unique sense of humor and always liked playing jokes on everyone (and was open to receive them, too). One could always look to Ruben for a good laugh.

Preceded in death by his wife, Keitha L. Aguayo, and his sister, Guadalupe Aguayo, he is survived by his sisters: Carmen Olivas (Armando), Patty Pointer Aguayo (Greg), and Diana Aguayo (Dave); nieces and nephews: Angelica Reliford (Asante), Javier Olivas, Jose Olivas, Veronica Olivas (Sassa), Victoria Alvarez (Julio), Joey Pointer (June), Brianna Jackson (Ben), Krysta Kokay (Justin), Jarren Pointer (Carly), Rayna Aguayo, and Enrique Aguayo, Ruben's underling; great-nieces and -nephews: Jojo, Malachi, Alora, Abram Reliford (Campion), Xuhey, Nadia Alvarez, Ethan, Ely, Evan Pointer, Ivy, and Iris Jackson; other family members: Jose Esparza (Antonietta), Antonio Aguayo, Gilda Roberts, Scotty Roberts, Eddie Roberts; countless cousins and friends - he made them everywhere he went throughout his life and they instantly were treated like family; and last, but certainly not least, his canine companion, Chewy.

Private services were held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Pueblo Colorado.
