Obituary for Sanford Bailey Twente Jr.
Sanford "Bailey" Twente, Jr., 77, loving husband, father, and grandfather, of Easley, SC, passed away peacefully December 23, 2020. He was born August 4, 1943 to the late Sanford Bailey Twente, Sr. and Athaline Twente McMahan.
Bailey served in the US Navy for four years. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas in Anderson, SC after 35 years of service, and then worked at Easley Combined Utilities for eight years. He loved a good fun game of pool with friends, playing almost weekly. Bailey was a member of the CCR Motorcycle Club and loved riding his motorcycle, until he was no longer able to do so. He and his wife, Frances, really enjoyed traveling and going on weekend getaways, watching movies, football games, and playing games (Scrabble being a favorite).
Bailey loved to keep up with his children and grandchildren, calling frequently to check in and making sure to ask about each member of each family (including their dogs). Frances wasn't left out of those daily phone calls either, he always checked in with her. Bailey so enjoyed time spent with his two little buddies, CJ and Buck (his cats), and had many stories about them - he really loved those two cats. Another favorite pastime was telling stories over a good HOT cup of coffee - they always ended with a laugh.
In addition to his loving spouse of 20 years, Frances Godfrey Twente, and his beloved feline companions, CJ and Buck, he is survived by his daughters: Arlene Atkins of Anderson, SC, Alice Patterson (Bubba) of Belton, SC, and Amanda Clamp of Honea Path, SC; stepsons, Todd Lawson (Shannon) and Bart Lawson; grandchildren: Jessica Ponton (Tony), Aaron Clamp, Tyler McGill, Amber Lilly (Brandon), Drew Patterson (Casey), Katey Atkins, Kerrigan Flowers (Keaton), Trenton Patterson, Nathan Atkins, Kaelynn Clamp, Jesse Clamp, and Derek Lawson; and great-grandchildren: Braxton and Alaina Lilly, Raelynn and Emberly Clamp, and Daylin Lawson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
