Obituary for Scott Ian Broomall

Scott Ian Broomall, 49, of Simpsonville, SC, passed away on January 3, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with heart and kidney failure.

Scott was born in Ohio and spent most of his childhood in Virginia, before moving to South Carolina. He graduated from West Florence High School in 1989, married his best friend and the love of his life Tami in 1992, and graduated from Clemson University in 1994. In 1998, the birth of his son Connor was his greatest joy. He worked in the plastics/synthetic fiber industry for 14 years with Nan Ya Plastics and New Horizon Plastics Recycling (formerly NTM, Inc.)

Scott loved golfing, playing cards, spending time with family and his dogs, and cheering for his beloved Tigers. He also enjoyed watching his favorite movies over and over, listening to many types of music, and hopping in the car to go for a drive, especially towards the mountains. Those who knew him best will always remember his quick wit, sense of humor, and compassionate and giving spirit. Appropriately, his favorite Bible verse was 2 Timothy 4:7 - "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Even when faced with insurmountable odds and constant pain, he continued to fight, but always with faith and concern for those who cared for him.

Scott is survived by his spouse, Tami (Hedrick), son Ian Connor, Father Richard, Mother Nancy (Hooper), Brother Daniel (Allison), in-laws Bruce, Shirley, and Daniel (Jen) Hedrick, four nieces (Alaina, Sophia, Elise, and Kylie), and a nephew (Caden).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016, or the American Heart Association at 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231.
