Obituary for Shirley Ann Chastain (Hendricks)

Shirley Hendricks Chastain, 78, loving mother and widow of Kenneth "Bob" Chastain passed from this life on Sunday, November 30, 2019.

Mrs. Chastain was a long time resident of Piedmont. Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Onest Folger and Addie Smith Hendricks and was a member of Daventon Baptist Church. She worked for JP Stevens Parker Plant for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Junior Hendricks, Folger "Bill" Hendricks, Glenn Hendricks; sisters, Lucille Cooley, Pearl Youngblood, Christine Youngblodd, Francis Babb, and Inez Daniels.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mark Cato; son and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Lauren Chastain; brother; Ernest; sisters, Pauline Gambrell, Bobbie Jean Kennedy, and Oledia Coker; grandchildren; Bella and Brody Chastain, step-grandchildren; Eric Cato, Jessica (Doug) Wintermute, and Summer Marzka; step-great grandchildren, Rachel, Zachary, Noah, Jacob, and Jared; step-great-great grandson Malakai.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 4th, 2019 from 6:30-8:00 at Palmetto Mortuary. Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 5th, 2019 from 2-2:30 at Palmetto Mortuary with burial at 3 at Greenville Memorial Gardens, service will be conducted by Rev. Rudy Halstead. Pallbearers will be Shaun Chastain, Jimmy and Ronnie Yeary, James Shafer, Aaron Kerr, and William Gray.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Interim Healthcare and Interim Hospice for their love and support. Special thanks to Chris, Dwight, Lauren, Leslie, Taylor, Beverly, Shelly, Donna, Fran, and Alice. May God richly bless each of you.
