Shirley Lanford West, 85, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law - Denise and Phil Plumblee and Kim Hartley; her grandchildren- Drew (Sarah) Plumblee, Jordan (Sarah) Plumblee, Grace Hartley, and Samantha Hartley; and her four great-grandchildren – Abby Grace, John, Lizzie and Carter.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl, who passed away in 2016. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Fay and Grace Lanford, and her brother, Fay (Sonny) Lanford, Jr.
While Earl worked to provide for the family financially, Shirley dedicated her life to caring for her daughters and her grandchildren. Together they were a wonderful example of what parents and grandparents should be. Shirley was lost when Earl went home first but now they are united together again, forever in heaven.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Phoenix at Greer for their loving care for Shirley over the past five years. The family is especially grateful for the love shown to her over the past nine months when Shirley’s family could not be with her in person.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Earle Street Baptist Church, Greenville, SC.
