Obituary for Sylvia Burgess Moore
Sylvia Grace Burgess Moore, 82, beloved wife of Eddie Levi Moore, from Liberty, SC went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2022. Born on February 23, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Hozman Kia and Otis Timms Burgess.
Sylvia retired from Clemson University. She was an organist for Calvary Baptist Church, WMU president of Calvary Baptist Church, and a member of the Walker McElmoyle Women’s Fire Auxiliary.
She loved to read through her bible a couple times every year. She was a true servant, loved her family dearly, loved to travel and loved to cook. Sylvia was always baking and taking her homemade baked goods to others and cooking feast for her family . She loved flowers of all kinds, especially Red Knock Out Roses.
In addition to her husband, Sylvia, is survived by her sons, David E. Moore of Belton, SC and Glenn R. Moore(Lynn) of Six Mile, SC; siblings, Don Burgess, Kennon Burgess(Myrtice), Wade Burgess, Steve Burgess, Joan B. Dickson, all of Liberty, SC and Kylene Holbrook of Central, SC; grandchildren, Jessie Moore(Laura) of Lock Haven, PA, Isaac Moore(Michaela) of Liberty, SC, and Lacey M. Wilbanks(Logan) of Belton, SC; great grandchildren, Lanegston Wilbanks and Carson Moore and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Allen Burgess(Faye) of Liberty, SC.
