Obituary for Thayer Grant Parrish
Thayer Grant Parrish, 45, of Duncan, SC, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
He spent all of his free time learning about a variety of subjects: philosophy, theology, nutrition, fitness, artillery, and politics, to name a few. Thayer carved out time to relax and go hiking and camping with family and friends in order to nurture relationships that were important to him. Any extra minutes were spent on the phone encouraging those who needed to be lifted up.
Thayer chose to live each day in service to his Savior in every area of his life. He loved his family with unending devotion. He spoke wisdom into the lives of his friends. Thayer worked with excellence and integrity. He was the best daddy in the whole wide world and he loved his Princess.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Parrish; daughters, Cora Gray (Michael) and Trinity Parrish; sister, Laura Piazza (Bob); mother, Constance "Connie" Guy; father, Thayer L. Parrish; aunt and uncle, Lois and Leigh; dear friends, the Rogers and the Duterte families; and countless loved ones.
Although his family doesn't understand why he has gone so soon, they trust that God's work will be accomplished through his life and his passing. They are thankful that after so many years of service he has been blessed with eternal rest.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 7:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2021 at Abner Creek Baptist Church, 2461 SC-42-63, Greer, SC 29651 under the caring guidance of the family and staff at Grace Bible Church. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior, beginning 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Bible Church, 107 W Rd., Moore, SC 29369.
