Obituary for Thomas Florian Chapleski
Thomas F. "Butch" Chapleski, 77, born in Shamokin, PA on January 16, 1945, a longtime native of Long Island, NY, recently of Easley, SC, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 3, 2022. He was the son of the late Florian & Elizabeth Kulick Slodysko.
Thomas is survived by his daughters, Stacey Chapleski Cilenti of Blacksburg, VA and Geraldine Chapleski of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Barbara Chapleski Kerprich and Paula Slodysko (Frank) Macedonio; brother, Joseph (Katherine) Slodysko; and many close friends at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pickens, SC.
In addition to his parents Butch was preceded in death by his sister, Anne Slodysko Reed.
Thomas was a talented artist and photographer, a loyal New York Jets Fan, avid reader and crossword puzzle solver. He will be most remembered for his contagious laugh. Tom loved parades and fireworks, appreciated fine art, museums, music and watching in awe as the Blue Angels flew overhead, but most of all he loved his family dearly.
Memorial Service will be Friday, March 11th, beginning at 12:15pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pickens, SC. Place of Internment will be in Hampton Roads, VA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
