Obituary for Vicki Lynn Jones
Vicki Lynn Jones, 72, of Simpsonville, SC, went to be with the Lord Monday, September 14, 2020.
Preceded in death by her parents, Verna and Norman Sojka of Cedar Rapids, IA; in-laws, Vina and Joe Jones of Conway, SC; and niece, Brenda Norris, she is survived by her loving husband, Danny Joe Jones; children: Bobby Joe Jones (Cathy), Cynthia Lynn Starosta (Peter), and David Dean Jones (Annette); grandchildren: Bobby (Lauren), Micaela (Brett), Megan, Henry, Theodore, and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Bobbi Jo, and Bennett; sister, Sandra Lou Norris (Bud); and many nieces and nephews.
Her immense love, support, and dedication to her entire family and extended family will be dearly remembered. She always put the needs of others before those of her own. During her 55 years of marriage, Vicki enjoyed sewing everyone in her family's clothing - even Danny's business suits. She cooked and cleaned with passion (Southern meals were a specialty), and was always honing a new skill or craft. Self-taught in many art forms, one of her proudest achievements was working stained glass. The treasures she created can be seen throughout her home and will allow her beauty and presence to be forever cherished.
A memorial service will be held 4:30 PM Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Simpsonville Church of God, 130 Stokes Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29681. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior beginning 3:30 PM.
