Obituary for Virginia L Allison
Virginia C. Allison, 92, native to Greenville, SC, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 5, 2021. She was born to the late Dewey and Macie Emory Corbin.
Virginia's passion was playing the piano - something she did in many local churches, but her greatest love was her family. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, J.W. Allison; sister, Carolyn Corbin Porter (Cordell); brother, Frank Corbin; nieces and nephews who were all considered her children: Alonda Rollison (Steve), Vickie Lynch (Pat), Richard Corbin (Marie), Pam Brawley, Mark Corbin, Paige Stevens, Jody Odom, Tammy Nicoll (Doug), Kyle Corbin (Lisa), and Nicole Leopard (Jeff).
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dewey and Conway Corbin; and nephews, Ronald and Donald Corbin.
Virginia made "the best pound cake ever." She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at City View First Baptist Church, 2300 W. Blue Ridge Dr., Greenville, SC 29611, with Dr. Mike Runion offiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior, beginning 11:00 AM. Committal at Woodlawn Memorial Park will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the City View First Baptist Church Building Fund.
