Obituary for Wayne "Mickey" Green
Wayne "Mickey" Green, 69, of Easley, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 23rd, 2020. He was the son of the late Ralph and Frances Green.
He is survived by his loving wife Lorrie Green; daughter, Samantha Elizabeth Turner (Matt); son, Wayne Michael Green Jr.(Alana); siblings, Linda Ledwell (Don), Barry Green (Linda), Deborah Gilliland, Ralph "Petie" Green (Judy); grandchild, Annabelle Grace Beheler-Green; aunts, Margie Foster, Iva Jo Elrod, and Patsy McKinney (also Samantha & Michael's godmother); uncles, Marion Greene and John Rober Elrod; nieces, Wendy Smith Allen, April Turner Simmons; nephew, Rocky Turner, and many more nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Diane Hooper and Stevie Green; grandchild, Payton Lee Green; uncle & close friend, Lewis Greene; uncle Johnny McKinney (also Samantha & Michael's godfather), & close friend & business colleague, Richard Holland. Mickey followed in his dad's footsteps in the bus business. Earlier in his life, he did auto-body work
and was the owner and baker of Wedding Cakes & More alongside his wife.
He truly enjoyed any reason to get together with friends and family, especially around the holidays. He also enjoyed playing golf, watching auto racing, attending auctions, & traveling, Lorrie is going to deeply miss her best friend of 40 years. They enjoyed many wonderful adventures & walked through some overwhelming challenges. By sharing them, they both lived richer lives. She is comforted knowing that he is in the Lord's care & will one day join him in Eternity. Samantha has fond memories of stargazing and dancing with her Daddy. Michael will always remember spending many happy hours playing golf and going to auto auctions with his Dad.
