Obituary for William David Daniel

William David Daniel, 90, passed from this life on September 5, 2020, in Greenville, SC.

An Atlanta native, David was a member of Georgia Tech's class of 1952 with a degree in chemical engineering. He was a true engineer with a can-do attitude, a commitment to getting things done and doing them right the first time, and a firm resolve to excel in everything he did. The results were built to last: Renovated houses, new houses built with Habitat for Humanity, a rocking horse for his grandson. But David shone his brightest when dealing with people, whether helping clients devise engineering solutions, helping those in need with his church, or being a good husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Our world is darker without him in it, but we cherish his memory and his love.

David is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce; his daughters, Janice Daniel and Diane Trimble and her husband Steve; grandchildren, Adam Neal and his wife Candace, Julia Neal, David Neal, Ben Neal, and Chris Trimble; great-grandchild, Charlie Neal; sisters-in-law, Ethel Ann Furtick, Lois Morrow, Dennis Armstrong and Adele Bonnette; former son-in-law, Lloyd Neal; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tracy and Mary Daniel, and his brother, Leonard Daniel.

There will be no memorial services. If you would like to honor his memory, please volunteer with or donate to Habitat for Humanity or any organization that feeds or shelters those in need.
