Obituary for William Mack Hutto

William M. Hutto, 79, of Lexington, SC went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He was the son of the late Ellis and Lolava Hutto.

William is survived by wife; Carre A. Hutto; daughters, Catherine Silvestro, Ashley Hutto and Amanda Hutto Harmon; siblings, Mavis Wise, Hope Hall and Ellis Dean Bolin; grandchildren, Natalie Kathryn Harmon and Caroline Leeann Harmon; many nieces and nephews; Raymond Wesley Howard Jr (son-in-love), Michael and Cathy Reeser (brother & sister-in-law), Chris and Darlene Posey (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Jack and Virginia Tracey-Roth (brother and sister-in-love), Michael "Gunny" Silvestro (son-in-law) and Paul Hall (brother-in-law).

He was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Wayne Hutto; a grandchild, Wesley Richard Harmon and mother-in-law Kathryn R. Posey.

Everyone who knew Bill knew that his love for his family was the most important thing to him. Second only to his love of the Lord, he had a deep love for Carre, his wife of 39 years. He never met a stranger and was quick witted jokester. He so loved all his girls and making them laugh.

Bill was an avid reader and life-long learner of natural sciences and world history. He enjoyed metal detecting, was a skilled woodworker, water colorist, and was passionate about found art. Bill had a penchant for finding beauty in everyday objects.

You could often find him at his river spot where he and his brother shared endless hours together enjoying nature.

William served proudly in the U.S. Navy and Civil Service for 28 years and went on to have a successful career in medical malpractice claims.

Bill's joyful spirit, iconic winks and thumbs ups will be deeply missed by those who love him.

The family will have an intimate service that will be held at a later date.

The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The South Carolina Historical Society-100 Meeting St., Charleston, SC 29401.
