William F. "Bill" Perkins

A native of Virginia and lived in SC since 1957. Bill was a Korean veteran with the 11th Airborne Division, a former police officer (City of Greenville 1957-1963), a former member of the Mauldin City Council 1972-1975, a former owner of the Perkins Card Clothing Company, a former owner of Perkins Paint Company for eighteen years, worked for John D. Hollingsworth for seventeen years, a 32 Second Degree Mason, a Shriner, and most of all, a Christian man that loved his church.

He was elected Recorder of Hejaz Temple in 1991 and held that office until his retirement in 2007. Bill was a co-founder of the Golden Strip Shrine Club in 1994 and served as the first President. He was President of the Shrine Recorder's Association of North America 2001-2002. He was the only one to ever hold this office from Hejaz.

He was a member of Eastlan Baptist Church and a member of the Pastoral Bell Ringers. He played guitar and sang at nursing homes. He also served as President of the Luncheon Club for several years.

Bill was a good husband, daddy, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy.

The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
