The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Wendy Lancaster can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Your presence at book club will be missed- you were always my conscience. Your thoughtfulness and consideration for all members was an important function. I will miss you as a friend and advisor

Condolence From: Warren Hoeffler
Condolence: There are a bunch of people who are going to miss you Wendy
Which is just another way of saying how many peoples’ lives you helped
And as we reflect on your life it is clear that there is no one else who can substitute
Being a fun person is a special gift and the fact that you spread that around is appreciated
I think you were always interested in things that could make people happy
And found pleasure in being the tour master of what people could discover
Your well wishes were always apparent, and you enjoyed considering peoples’ lives
And offered help as a listener and advice giver, but most of all as a loving friend

Of course I will always remember you as my sister, who defined me as a brother, and always provided much needed input along the way on some things that I had not noticed so well, but are actually of great importance
I think back on growing up in our household, and how we held hands walking into the living room each Christmas to discover toys and gifts that Santa had left under the Christmas tree that bought us great joy, not just for what they were but for the thoughtfulness expressed through the gifts
It seems this theme had lasting meaning for you because you continued to help people find thoughtful gifts and that was a great joy for you

You also showed great skill as an architect and engineer, judging by how your home came together to contain your loving family
I am not sure whether you or Steve deserves the most credit for you two finding each other, but you picked a wonderful man
As you defined me as a brother, you defined Steve as a husband, and presented many scenarios that offered a chance for him to shine as a model husband and much more
Your intimate relationship seemed to satisfy both of you, and along came Alex, a reflection of your love, and a chance for Steve to grow in his role as a father
Of course I will always be grateful for Steve’s role as a son in law to our Mom
He never strayed from offering our Mom a special home to visit, and a family where she was welcome and was treated as the special matriarch, which she really enjoyed

It would seem that we will be lost without you, but then you did such a good job I don’t see us forgetting who we have become with your help
We all dance upon this earth for only just a while
It is the fabric created as our lives are woven together that creates the joys we value most
You will always be part of that and we know we are part of you as well
We all wait in our own ways for the furtherance of experience in whatever ways such things are manifest, thoughtful and prayerful that the many positive things that have blossomed during our time together become life renewed in the larger universe
With great love and admiration, your brother

Warren

Condolence From: Sally Eastman
Condolence: Steve and Alex,
My heart goes out to the two of you during this very difficult time. Wendy was one of my favorite members of the Lazy Girls Book Club. She always had such funny and amusing comments to make about the books we read, and we always loved having her participate in the discussions. When she entertained us at your house she always made it a huge feast with all kinds of goodies for us to eat. She will be missed by all of us Lazy Girls. May peace be with both of you, and may her memories keep your heart full of love.
