Obituary

Dorothy L. Stegmann, 93, of Greenville, South Carolina passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Weidman.

She is survived by her son, Frank Charles Stegmann; daughters, Karen L. McCarty, Karla D. Strickland, Kristine D. Saracelli, and Kacey M. Reder; grandchildren, Dylan Strickland, Mia Seymour, Brittany Koops, Cole Reder, and Zoey Reder; great grandchild, Liana Seymour; special friends, Rev. Grover Putnam, Jake, Lady, and Michael Mahon.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband George R. Stegmann; siblings, Marie Leese, Ruth Finnegan, and Jean East; grandchild, Matthew Stegmann.

Dorothy was a published author of fictional stories, loved embroidery, art, photography, music and literature. She provided compassionate nursing care to terminally ill patients.

How do we pay tribute to our mother? A mother, who seemed to spend her life in search of some elusive happiness that was always just out of reach. She was beautiful, elegant, well spoken, and talented. She was a great observer of people and the world around her. She drew upon these observations to craft wonderful worlds of fantasy, adventure and bravery in her fictional works. She loved classical music and jazz, poetry and the visual arts. She had a zest for life that was evident in her photography.

Mom, you will be greatly missed. We send you off now to go in peace and be with your loving husband. To quote your favorite line, " Let's go have lunch!"
