Mildred (Millie) Furry, 93, went to her heavenly home peacefully to be with the Lord on July 15, 2020. She joined her beloved husband, Kenneth M. Furry, a former Air Force Chief Master Sergeant. Born in Greenville, SC to the late Jones E. Garner and Elizabeth Mae Harkins Garner.

Millie was unique, tried & true, a treasure of gentle strength and a selfless spirit with the power to share. She gave herself with her Unwavering Faith to family, friends, as well as every baby & child she met. Her mission to the Lord and community was working in the baby room & kitchen at Lee Road Baptist Day Care for Twenty years.

Many memories will be treasured by her surviving family; daughters, Nancy Evans (Don) of Taylors, SC, Michele Ruch (Tim) of Simpsonville, SC; siblings, brothers, Eddie M. Garner of Lexington, SC, C. Dwight Garner (Andrea) of Greenville, SC, sister, Jean Garner Sieroslawski of Piedmont, SC; grand-children: Lindsey Evans Bishop (Mat), Zachary Ruch (Kelsea) and Joshua Ruch; great grand-children, Adelyn Elise Smith, Emery Lou Bishop, Eisley Bishop & Camden Bishop, and many nieces and nephews. A Military extended family-friend (met in Germany) of 63 years, Beverly Whitney of Mt. Pleasant, SC.

The daughters would like to express their deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff members at Pruitt Hospice, all the precious staff at Phoenix Sr Living in Greer, SC, and to the most Wonderful Sister, Jean, that was such a faithful and loving caretaker, a true Jewel She was preceded in death by two brothers: J.W. Garner & Elmo (Bo) Garner.

Graveside Service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Woodlawn Memorial Park officiated by the Rev. Jerry Madden and Rev. Bob McCuen. Masks and social distancing are welcome at the service.

Millie was a second mom to me. I felt more at ease with her than my own mom. She was the sweetest and kindest and most giving mother I could ever know. Always understanding. And just when you thought she wasn’t on top of it all..surprisingly she was! She had that laid back sense of humor and was always there for whom ever needed her to be. My heart is so sad as I write this. I wish I could have seen her one more time. She was a rare treasure that will surely be missed. Heaven has now received the angel with the biggest heart who deserves her massive wings. RIP...All My will be forever missed!! 🥰...Robin
